Angora sweaters
Angora accesories

Angora sweaters and yarn for knitting lovers. In bright colors. Custom and ready made sweaters. Scarves, mittens, hats, booties...

Angora sweaters are so soft and fluffy, they look like they meld into you, they look like fur. The upside is that no rabbits have been hurt to produce these sweaters so you may say they are "the guilt free fur".

Our wool it's more fluffy than anything else in the market, as our yarn is hand spun with very long selected angora rabbit hair, not mill spun short clipped angora fibers or artificial nylon fibers.

Angora Rabbit Knitting Yarn

Answers to frequently asked questions about the angora yarns we craft by hand spinning the longest angora wool fibers of our own breed of angora rabbits.

1.- The angora rabbit
2.- Spinning angora fibers
3.- Knitting, weaving, crocheting, dyeing
4.- Properties of the angora rabbit wool
5.- How much angora yarn for hats, mittens, socks, caps, scarfs, sweaters?
6.- Comparative prices of angora handspun yarn

The angora rabbit. Nature provides the Angora Rabbit with a coat that sheds or molts periodically. This coat is easily removed by plucking when "ripe", with no damage to the rabbit, or may be sheared with electric clippers, or clipped with scissors very much like it is done to sheep

Unlike commercial angora we use only plucked angora which ensures that the length of the angora fiber is significant enough to stay part of the yarn and not shed. We also spinn it fine with high twist to eliminate shedding, and for a terrific fur looking, no machine spinning can yield!

Our Special Price For 100% Prime Angora Handspun Yarn. Now you may buy enough 50 gram balls for a knitting, crocheting or weaving project at only $17 each, for natural white color, and $17 to $18.50 for dyed balls (see colors). You are sure to get at least 50% extra if not more for your money.

Spinning Angora Fibers. Spinning Angora is like spinning clouds. An experience no spinner should miss

Knitting, Weaving, Crocheting Angora
Is easy, as the nap doesn't appear until after the finished project is handled. Angora is so soft and has all the qualities one could ask for. It is strong, durable, lightweight, makes a fine yarn, takes dye readily, has a natural furry halo and you can choose from a variety of colors.

Single jersey or more elaborated stitch, all is perfect for nice simple sweaters or scarves, fully fashionable looking, or in very sophisticated evening jackets and cardigans. We offer a variety of colors for your knitting fantasy.

Suggested gauge is 9 sts.= 2" on size 7 needles (Nº 7 American is also Nº 7 in the UK) for a thick fur looking 2" pile. Balls are 50 grams or 1,76 oz., with aprox. 60 yards.

Our 100% Angora two-ply hand spun yarn comes from our bunnies in natural white, and we also dye it in a varierty of colors.

Karen Maguire, an experienced knit designer using our angora yarn, says: "The pile is so very thick -over two inches high and slides like water over the skin. I would use no smaller needle than a #7. Lace patterns may give a bigger gauge."

A little weight of yarn can go a long way, too. USE ANGORA FOR SPECIAL TRIMS, DETAIL WORK, or spoil yourself with the sensuous feel of a 100% angora sweater. A true experience...

Angora Rabbit Wool
Angora wool is so soft, so fine, and seven times warmer than sheep's wool. It is a natural hollow chambered fiber that provides the best natural insulation while allowing body moisture to escape, keeping the wearer dry, as well as warm.
